Former Spartak Moscow forward Valery Kechinov talked about Napoli’s defeat to Milan in the Champions League quarter-finals first leg. He emphasized that the Neapolitans do not have enough injured striker Victor Osimhen, whose presence on the field determines the game of his partners, including midfielder Khvichi Kvaratshelia. Kechinov believes Napoli’s chances of success will be higher if Osimhen recovers for the second game.
“It will be one hundred percent zaruba. And in yesterday’s match, Napoli had the advantage for a very long time, there were very good moments. The point is different: Naples with and without Osimhen are two big differences. When Osimhen plays and Khvicha behaves differently, his whole game is geared towards this forward who knows his business very well and regularly scores goals that give a result to Napoli. The outcome of the match will depend on whether Osimhen plays in the second match or not. If he can get out, Napoli has a better chance of passing. If he doesn’t play, chances are 50/50, ”Kechinov told socialbites.ca.
Milan beat Napoli 1-0 with a goal from Ismael Bennacer at home. The return match will be played on April 18 in Naples. In other quarter-finals, Inter beat Benfica 2-0, Chelsea lost 0-2 to Real Madrid and Manchester City beat Bayern 3-0.
