Valery Kechinov, former striker of Spartak Moscow and the Russian national team, talked about the future of Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard in this post. Lampard replaced Graham Potter at the start of the Blues, and under his leadership, the team lost to Real Madrid in the quarter-finals first leg of the Champions League. Kechinov expressed hope that Lampard will not become a “temporary worker” and that he will have a chance to prove himself in this position.

“I want everything to work out for him, to be trusted and to be given a chance. Still, these players have tremendous experience and can add a lot to Chelsea. The most important thing is that the leadership needs to be patient so there are no hasty decisions if there is no immediate result, ”Kechinov told socialbites.ca.

Real beat the Londoners at home with goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio. The return match will be played on 18 April in London. In the other quarter-finals, Inter beat Benfica 2-0, Napoli lost 0-1 to Milan and Manchester City beat Bayern 3-0.

According to Chelsea officials, Lampard will remain in the post until the end of the season in search of a long-term manager. Lampard worked as the head coach of the “retirees” in 2019-2021. As a player, he played for the Londoners for over 13 years, making 429 appearances and scoring 147 goals. With Chelsea, Lampard became the three-time champion of England, winner of the Champions League and the Europa League.

formerly Kechinov declarationChelsea’s chances of beating Real Madrid in the Champions League are very slim.
