Rehabilitation doctor, candidate of medical sciences Alexander Shishonin told how Roman Kostomarov learned to slide after wearing a prosthesis instead of the amputated parts of his legs. Words of an expert drive the portal aif.ru.
“The first task is to learn to walk on prosthetics as if you were on your own feet. But with his skills and physical form, Roman will do it easily and quickly, – Shishonin is sure. Second, learn to skate. They have skills. Neural networks form in the brain. In fact, you just need to load new variables into these neural networks.”
The doctor noted that the figure skater will lose some degree of accuracy of movements, which is an important element in a complex sport of coordination. Because of this, Kostomarov will lose the opportunity to realize “super complex elements.”
“But it’s very nice to ride, much better than most, he can definitely do it,” said Shishonin. “A professional skateboarder can make items so beautifully that people will wonder how this is possible.”
It is worth noting that Kostomarov performed in ice dancing, a discipline in which jumps and throws are not performed, in which a prosthesis can break.
Previously the doctor announced a new health problem with Kostomarov.
