The coach has previously worked for KHL clubs Severstal (Cherepovets), Sibir (Novosibirsk), CSKA (Moscow), Lokomotiv (Yaroslavl) and Ak Bars (Kazan). Under his leadership, the army team won the regular league season three times and became the national champion once.
