Alexander Ovechkin, captain of the National Hockey League (NHL) “Washington Capitals” club, spoke about the return of the team’s defender John Carlson after a terrible injury. His words were reported on social networks by the press service of the capital’s team.

“I was on the ice back then. It was scary. But he is a warrior. Sometimes he plays with injuries that others can’t walk. “Not every hockey player wants to miss games and deal with injuries,” said Ovechkin.

In late December last year, Carlson was injured in a regular season game against the Winnipeg Jets. The defender was injured after hitting the puck in his face. Carlson has scored 9 goals and provided 18 assists in 36 games this season.

Ovechkin was selected overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and began playing for the Capitals in the 2005–06 season.

On April 6, Washington lost 2:5 to the New York Rangers in the NHL regular season game. Ovechkin scored with an assist. After this match, Capitals lost their chance to reach the play-offs of the tournament.

formerly Ovechkin caught Mats Sundin, Olympic champion in the NHL.
