Stanislav Pozdnyakov, head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), believes that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will reconsider its requirements for Russian athletes, which were adopted at the end of March.

“It’s been a tough year, but the Olympics brought our family together. Our competitors also accept that the unfair sanctions imposed a year ago should be reviewed. Yes, not all, but this process has begun and there is no going back. I think the IOC will drastically revise its requirements, which it laid out a week ago, ”says Pozdnyakov. DEA News.

Recall that at the end of February 2022, the IOC addressed international sports federations and recommended that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.

At a meeting of the IOC executive committee on March 28, it was recommended that the Russians be allowed a neutral status if the athletes did not actively support the hostilities. Athletes representing law enforcement and armed forces will not be allowed to compete.
