Kazan “Ak Bars” won a decisive victory over the Omsk “Avangard” and took the lead in the final series of the Eastern Conference’s Continental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs.
The match played in Omsk on 5 April ended with the victory of the team from the capital of Tatarstan with a score of 3:2 in overtime.
Reed Boucher scored for Avangard in the 34th minute and Vladimir Tkachev increased Omsk’s advantage in the 46th minute.
However, in the 55th minute, Ak Bars recaptured a goal thanks to Nikita Evseev’s accurate shot, and two minutes later Alexander Radulov managed to turn the majority 2:2.
Vadim Shipachyov made the decisive kick in overtime in the 73rd minute of the match.
After 3 games in the series, Ak Bars is the leader with a score of 2-1. The next game will be played on April 7 in Omsk.
Recall that in the final of the Western Conference of the KHL playoffs between St. Petersburg SKA and Moscow CSKA, the score was 1: 1. The first two encounters in St. Petersburg, the third match will be played on April 6 in Moscow.
