Daniel Cormier, former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), at the show DC&RC The Irishman said Conor McGregor made Khabib Nurmagomedov a superstar.
“Conor made superstars of two of the best friends I love and admire the most. It made Khabib a megastar and raised Poirier to a popularity he couldn’t have imagined. So Conor not only introduces himself, but also helps other fighters with whom he shares the octagon,” Korme said.
McGregor faced Khabib Nurmagomedov once in his career. At the UFC-229 tournament, the Russian defeated the Irishman with a painful grip. Thus, Nurmagomedov won the UFC lightweight title.
McGregor had his last fight in the summer of 2021, losing to Dustin Poirier.
