Bronze medalists of the European Championship in pair skating Daria Pavlyuchenko and Denis Khodykin decided to stop their joint performance.
“Our journey with Daria Pavlyuchenko has come to an end. I am eternally grateful to Dasha for her work over these years. We’ve been through a lot together – ups, downs, injuries and victories. After Dasha recovered from the injury, we talked and decided that joint work is no longer possible. It was a difficult decision for us,” Khodykin wrote on social networks.
Skaters are bronze medalists of the Russian Championship (2020, 2021) and world champions among juniors (2018). They also have four silvers and two bronzes in the Grand Prix stages.
Recall that at the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) made a call to international sports federations and recommended that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.
At a meeting of the IOC executive committee on March 28, it was recommended to allow the Russians to have a neutral status, if the athletes were not actively engaged in supporting hostilities. Athletes representing law enforcement and armed forces will not be allowed to compete.
