El Ciclón begins his journey in international competition and travels to Venezuela to try and start on the right track.
San Lorenzo start your way in South American Cup, the same one he managed to win in the first edition, in 2002, his last international title. And this debut comes at a time when he needs to get back to who he was at the start of the season, after a defeat and a draw prevented him from continuing as leader of the Professional League Tournament.
Now it’s time to move on to the continental competition and the story begins in Venezuela, where it awaits Merida students. At the raffle held a week ago, Ciclón was also tied with Fortaleza and Palestino in Group H.
THE CALL OF SAN LORENZO
El Ciclón had little time to work after Saturday’s 0-0 defeat against Independiente and after two training sessions, Gallego Insúa decided to add some youth players to the delegation that left for Venezuela on Monday morning.
The great absence is again that of Adam Bareirowho has a muscle strain that prevented him from playing against Red, traveled with his teammates and would even leave him without playing over the weekend in Tucumán.

THE FORMATION OF SAN LORENZO
Although the team is feeling physical wear and tear and has shown in recent matches, the Gallego has the South American as a priority and therefore nothing will be saved apart from the aforementioned absence of Bareiro in attack, which raises the question about the continuity of Nico Blandi or the arrival of Iván Leguizamónto lead Vombergar to the position of striker.
The other unknown is almost a classic in a position where Insúa alternates: the right lane, with Agustín Giay for a more offensive proposal or Gonzalo Luján for containment. Also, returning is Ezequiel Cerutti instead of Nahuel Barrios.
The possible eleven is then with August Battle; Rafael Perez, Federico Gattoni, Gaston Hernandez; Agustín Giay or Gonzalo Luján, Jalil Elías, Carlos Sánchez, Agustín Martegani; Ezequiel Cerutti, Nicolás Blandi or Iván Leguizamón, Andrés Vombergar.
