Former Spartak football player Soslan Gatagov compared Cypriot Aris striker Alexander Kokorin with Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Sergei Pinyaev and Dynamo metropolitan midfielder Arsen Zakharyan.
“If Sasha had made his debut now with the current football situation in the country, I think we would have said: ‘We have a phenomenon! As they said about Zakharyan. Kokorin is a graduate of Moscow Dynamo. He also played in the teams of St. Petersburg “Zenith”, “Sochi” and the capital’s “Spartak”.
The striker moved from Spartak to Italian Fiorentina, where he played only 11 matches without a single effective action. In September 2022, he moved to Aris on loan until the end of the 2022/2023 season, where he currently played 23 games, scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists.
Kokorin’s contract with Fiorentina runs until 30 June 2024.
