Former defender of the French national team, 1998 world champion Frank Leboeuf spoke about the level of play of the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Two people told me I was stupid, I didn’t understand anything, Ronaldo proved it to us ESPN experts, because Cristiano scored a goal and he was great. They said I was never on the same level as Ronaldo and never will be.
And I said, “Listen, you’re right. I was never on his level. I won the World Cup but he didn’t,” says Leboeuf ESPN.
Ronaldo will make his mark in the Euro 2024 selection for the Portugal national team in March with four goals (one from the penalty spot) in their matches against Luxembourg and Liechtenstein. These are the first matches Portugal has played since the 2022 World Cup.
The World Championship held at the end of last year was the fifth in his career. It is worth noting that in each of them the midfielder managed to score at least one goal.
During the World Cup qualifiers held in Qatar, coach Roberto Martinez put the star player on the bench.
It was previously reported that Ronaldo has scored more goals than Portugal’s next three top scorers combined.
