World Athletics will not allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in international competitions following the release of new recommendations from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It has been reported TASS Regarding the press service of World Athletics.

“World Athletics’ position has not changed, everything was laid out after our board meeting last week. As the IOC stated yesterday, it is the responsibility of the relevant International Federations to decide on this issue in relation to the sports concerned.

On 28 March, Switzerland hosted the first day of the IOC Executive Committee meeting, which discussed the issue of the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions.

The organization recommended that the Russians be allowed to remain in a neutral status if the athletes did not actively support the war. Athletes representing law enforcement and armed forces will not be allowed to compete.
