Journalist Utkin: IOC offers to change citizenship to Russian athletes

Journalist Vasily Utkin commented on the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to international competitions under certain conditions.

“What needs to be done for permission to be granted? But you do this, we’ll check, we’ll say later. This means one. The IOC actually proposes to change citizenship,” wrote Utkin telegraph channel.

Recall that the IOC Executive Committee planned to discuss the issue of admitting Russians to international competitions on March 28, but no decision was taken. The possible admission criteria remain: if allowed, athletes will be able to compete in neutral status and only in individual competitions, the Russian team will not be allowed to participate in team events.
