The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has come up with a name for Russian athletes in international competitions.

If athletes from Russia participate in international competitions, they will be designated with the abbreviation AIN (Individual Neutral Athletes). This name will also apply to athletes from Belarus.

Recall that the IOC Executive Committee planned to discuss the issue of admitting Russians to international competitions on March 28, but no decision was taken. The possible admission criteria remain: if allowed, athletes will be able to compete in neutral status and only in individual competitions, the Russian team will not be allowed to participate in team events.

On January 25, the IOC announced that it is considering the possibility of allowing Russian athletes who do not support the conduct of a special operation on Ukrainian territory to participate in international competitions with a neutral status.

Former Deputy of the State Duma of Russia Dmitry Svishchev spoke On the selection criteria of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to the Olympic Games.
