Former Manchester United football player Andrey Kanchelskis has commented on the words of Russia national team coach Valery Karpin saying he is not staying in his post.

Recall that the specialist admitted in a recent conversation with reporters that he did not hold a place in the national team and in the club. After that, his words caused a storm of public debate. Therefore, the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Oleg Matytsin, believes that the coach should decide whether he is with his country.

“What’s the matter if someone is telling the truth: If you don’t want to see him in the national team, fire him. Yes – yes, no – no. There is no middle ground. I’m taking it slow. Do I need to say I’m so patriotic, heroic and tear my shirt?

Karpin is right. They sit there in their offices and start telling stories. Then let Matytsin accept the national team and coach him or get a coach who will shout “I’m going to smash everyone”. Please! I laugh at them,” Kanchelskis quotes sports24.

Karpin’s wards played two friendly matches at the March training camp: in Tehran with the Iranian team (1:1) and St. Petersburg with Iraq (2:0).

Recall that in the spring of 2022 the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Association of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to exclude the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from participation in all competitions controlled by these organizations.

Former former goalkeeper of the USSR national team Anzor Kavazashvili He insisted Valery Karpin does not do the national team any favors.
