Striker of the Swedish national team, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, became the oldest player in the history of the qualifying and final tournaments for the European Championship.

At the age of 41 years, 5 months and 21 days, Ibrahimovic faced Belgium in the first qualifying round match of Euro 2024. Before that, the oldest player in Euro history was Italian goalkeeper Dino Zoff. In 1983, when he was 41 years and 3 months old, he played against Sweden.
