Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin has set another milestone in the National Hockey League (NHL).

He scored the Russian first goal in the NHL regular season game with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Thus, Ovechkin opened the score in the NHL game for the 140th time in his career. This is an absolute league record.
