The publication reported that investigators arrested a 35-year-old resident of Chita on suspicion of the murder of Viktor Yegorov.
“According to the investigation, during the joint drinking and discussion on March 20, 2023, the suspect dealt multiple blows with an ax to the victim who died at the scene as a result of the blows he received. The 35-year-old man confessed to his act during interrogation and detailed the circumstances of the murder to investigators during confirmation of his statement. The investigators made the necessary forensic examinations,” it said.
The man who confessed to the murder has already been taken into custody.
At the age of 16, Yegorov got into the youth team of Lokomotiv, playing in the second league of the allied championship. He also played for Svyazist, Luch, Angara and Vodnik throughout his career.
