Ukrainian Fencing Federation (FFU) official website The International Fencing Federation (FIE) announced that all tournaments with the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes were boycotted.

The decision concerns both athletes, coaches and referees. It is also planned to agitate against the participation of athletes from other countries in the same tournaments as Russians and Belarusians.

A special action plan will be developed by a specially created group for Ukrainian athletes and coaches at the upcoming competitions, where Russians and Belarusians will be accepted. Also, the FFU Presidency plans to appeal the decision of the FIE congress on the return of Russian and Belarusian fencers to international tournaments.

Previously Germany And Finland He announced that the tournaments were canceled due to the admission of fencers from Russia and Belarus to international competitions.

Recall that the decision on the admission of Russians should come into force from the second half of April 2023 for the World Fencing Championships, which will be held in Milan in July. Russian and Belarusian athletes must compete in neutral condition.
