Daniil Semko from Odessa, who plays ice dancing for the Hungarian national team, was stabbed in Moscow with Russian Maria Ignatieva.
The athlete independently reached the Botkin hospital, where he was diagnosed with a stab wound to his right thigh. Fortunately, Semko’s life is not in danger. Doctors treated the wound and excessive blood loss was prevented.

The skater told doctors she was stabbed after encountering an unidentified man in a crowd near Petrovsky Park. The young man felt a severe pain in his leg and saw a bleeding cut.
The alleged perpetrator managed to flee the scene.
Doctors monitoring Semko’s condition called the police to the hospital, but the skater refused to accuse them of injuring anyone, telling them a different version of the incident.
The athlete said he had “hanged something sharp in someone’s bag” and cut his thigh.
He stressed that he has no claims and will not file a lawsuit.
However, the media claim that Semko will soon leave Moscow, where she recently trained and worked as a figure skating coach.
Recall that the Ukrainian athlete has been paired with Maria Ignatieva, a Russian woman from Yekaterinburg, since 2021. Both changed their sports citizenship to participate in international tournaments as part of the Hungarian national team.
According to the information in the athlete’s profile, during the season he trained both in the capital of Hungary, Budapest, and twice in Moscow, where well-known specialists Irina Zhuk and Alexander Svinin worked together, who trained such athletes as Russians. The champions of the European Championships and two-time silver medalists Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin.
And the programs of the 2021/22 season Semko and Ignatieva were staged by Maxim Stavisky, a two-time world champion in ice dancing, a native of Rostov-on-Don, and is actively working in the ice shows of Ilya Averbukh. Ice Age.
The duet Ignatieva and Semko won a silver medal at the Volvo Open Cup tournament in the 2021/22 season and a bronze medal at the Hungarian national championship. In the same year, they participated in the European Figure Skating Championships and placed 18th.

Before being paired with the Russians, Semko won the Hungarian junior championship three times with Hungarian figure skater Villa Marton in the 2015/16 season and participated in the junior world championship and Grand Prix series at international level.
Previously, she also played for the national team of Ukraine – paired up with Vera Gorodetskaya, and then with Yana Bardadym.
In 2021, the athlete graduated from the National University of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine, which allowed him to work as a coach.
Besides his sports career, Semko is seriously interested in music: he plays the guitar and harmonica, and performs in underground bands in Budapest, including songs that he composed himself.
