Tajikistan Football Federation press secretary Faridun Saliev said that the Russian national football team will participate in the first championship of the Central Asian Football Federation (CAFA) in the summer.
“The Russian team will take part in the first championship of the Central Asian Football Federation, which will be held on June 9-21 this year, with the participation of the men’s national teams,” Saliev said. “Match TV”.
Teams from the association will also participate in the tournament – Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Also, the organization invited him to play one of the Asian national teams, as well as Russia.
Recall that the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Association of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to exclude the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from participation in all competitions controlled by these organizations.
On January 24, a meeting between representatives of the Russian Football Union (RFU) and UEFA was held in Nyon, Switzerland. The parties agreed on the procedure for further cooperation on the return of Russian clubs and teams to international tournaments, and an agreement was reached to continue cooperation.
High-level representatives of FIFA and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will attend the new meeting.
