Briton Andrew Musgrave talked about his performances at the 2023 World Ski Championships in Planica, Slovenia.

Recall that the Norwegian team, which won 27 medals (12 gold, ten silver and five bronze), scored a confident victory in the medal standings in the competition.

“I’m trying to forget about the race and not think about it anymore. Maybe I got coronavirus shortly before the start, but I didn’t get tested. In any case, I wasn’t healthy.

I usually perform at the limit of my abilities, but at the World Championships I was not myself. And there were not even Russian athletes in this tournament, and I still fell far behind. My results at the World Cup are total scum,” Dagbladet quotes Musgrave.

Recall that the International Ski Federation (FIS) decided to exclude Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until the end of last season, and then extended the sanctions.

The Russians missed the final stages of the 2021/22 World Cup. Also, Russian skiers are not taking part in the new season 2022/23, but they are focusing on local starts.

Former 2022 Olympic silver medalist Ivan Yakimushkin gave an opinionNorwegian skiers are not worried about the absence of Russian athletes at international starts.
