Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Petr Yan spoke about his upcoming rival, Merab Dvalishvili, at a media day ahead of UFC Fight Night 221 in Las Vegas. Transmits words “Sport Express”.

“Is it politics? Nothing else to draw attention to him. His fights are unusual, you see, he’s holding like a dog, well… he’s sticking and holding. It doesn’t do anything else. That’s why it tries to attract attention. No one cares about him anymore,” Yang said.

Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili will meet on March 12 in Las Vegas (USA) as part of the UFC tournament.

Recall that on October 22, American Sean O’Malley defeated Russian Petr Yan by split decision in a bantamweight fight as part of the UFC-280 tournament in Abu Dhabi.

For Peter Yan, this defeat was the second in a row. He lost to Aljamain Sterling at UFC-273 in April of this year. This meeting was vengeful in nature. In a previous fight, Yang was disqualified for hitting a sitting opponent on the head with his knee.

Dvalishvili fought 19 fights in mixed martial arts, of which 15 were won. The last opponent of the Georgian was Jose Aldo, which he defeated by a unanimous decision of the jury.
