Russian forward “Washington Capitals” Alexander Ovechkin records the puck against the “Los Angeles Kings” during the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL).

The match was held in Los Angeles and ended with the home team’s score of 4:2.

Ovechkin scored a goal against goalkeeper Phoenix Copley. The American became the 169th goalkeeper to score by the 37-year-old Russian player. Only two hockey players in NHL history have been able to hit more goalie’s doors – Czech Jaromir Jagr (178) and Canadian Patrick Marlo (177). Thus, Ovechkin narrowed the gap to Jagr’s record to nine goalkeepers.

Washington Capitals captain Ovechkin has scored 61 points (36 goals + 25 assists) this season.

It was previously reported by Alexander Ovechkin abbreviated He is behind legendary Canadian Wayne Gretzky with 78 goals on the list of NHL regular season best snipers in tournament history.
