Boston Bruins Russian guard Dmitry Orlov commented on his trade from Washington Capitals. Transmits words sports24.
“Emotionally, everything was difficult after the exchange. I didn’t expect to be traded, after all, I spent 11 years in Washington, but I realized it was possible. The coach said there was no need to go to the game with Anaheim because they could replace me. I went home, waiting for information. The general manager called me and said I was going to Boston. I was in shock, ”said Orlov.
Orlov has been with Capitals since 2011. He won the Stanley Cup as part of the team in 2018. The player and the club were reportedly unable to agree on the length of the new contract and was traded to Boston as a result.
Washington Capitals reportedly offered Orlov a new three-year contract, in exchange for a six-year contract.
