The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has approved the change of sports citizenship of Anastasia Simakova, a former athlete of the Russian national team. It has been reported TASS in relation to the press service of the organization.
According to FIG rules, the change of sports citizenship takes place one year after the decision is made, so Simakova can play for Germany from March 2024.
Simakova is a student of the Omsk school of rhythmic gymnastics. The 18-year-old gymnast is also the bronze medalist of the Russian championship in flying exercises. In 2016, Simakova won the individual all-around silver medal at the Russian Championships for girls 11-12 years old.
In 2021, Simakova’s family moved to Germany. The 18-year-old has already played for German club Eintracht from Frankfurt am Main.
