The Formula 1 World Cup kicked off at the Sakhir circuit in the first of three days of the Bahrain GP. And for Fernando Alonso, the premiere on his new adventure with Aston Martin couldn’t be more promising. The Asturian driver was second between the two Red Bulls in the morning practice session, but his afternoon performance was even better and Alonso finished the day fastest. Carlos Sainz, who started the race from 14th place, could not get the same chance.
