COMPETITION CUP “JOCKEY CLUB”

The first National Cup won by Xeneize in its history. The tournament was contested by all teams from the AFA First Division and some teams from the Rosarina League. In 1919, Boca knocked out Gimnasia (2-0) and Eureka (2-1) before losing 2-0 to Racing in the round of 16, but then there was a break and the Academy and other clubs withdrew from the competition for a splinter association. Thus, the tournament was rescheduled with the clubs that did not desert: the Ribera team defeated Estudiantes (3-0), Porteño (3-2) and Belgrano de Rosario (2-0) to qualify for the final, in the who defeated Central 1-0 in extra time.

Six years later, without the Rosario teams in the tournament, Boca would become champions again after beating Porteño 1–0 in the round of 16; 8-0 to Alvear in the round of 16; 2-0 to New Chicago in the quarterfinals; 3-1 to El Porvenir in the semi-final and 1-0 to Argentinos in the second final, after the first had ended 1-1.

STIMULUS CUP

Boca is one of the only two winners of this tournament, which was held in 1920 and 1926 during the interval of the Copa América championship. BRITISH RACING CUP

Boca was a finalist in the three editions of the tournament that challenged a trophy donated by the Embassy of Great Britain, but only won the last one. Contested in consecutive years under the format of direct elimination between all teams of the First Division, Xeneize finally won the title in 1946, after defeating Vélez in the round of 16 (3-2), Rosario Central in the quarter-finals (4- 1), River in the semifinals (2-0) and San Lorenzo in the final (3-1).

His first title came in the old version of the tournament, which was held in 1969 with 32 teams and served as a qualifier for the Recopa Sudamericana, a CONMEBOL event that lasted only one year. That edition was played by elimination in a doubles match and Xeneize reached the final after eliminating Atlético Tucumán, Sarmiento de Santiago del Estero, Chacarita and Colón. In the definition, the Ribera team triumphed 3-1 in the first leg over Atlanta and was enough to be crowned despite losing 1-0 in the rematch.

When the tournament was reinstated more than 40 years after its creation, Boca settled into the first edition of the new Copa Argentina in 2011/12 after beating Racing 2-1 in the final in San Juan (en route to elimination to Santamarina, Central Córdoba de Rosario, Olimpo, Rosario Central and Deportivo Merlo); then it was repeated in 2014/15 with the controversial 2-0 win over Rosario Central in Córdoba, after beating Huracán Las Heras, Banfield, Guaraní Antonio Franco, Defensa y Justicia and Lanús in the previous cases. The match, the first edition of which was renamed the Diego Maradona Cup in mid-season after Diez’s death, was left to Xeneize, who beat Banfield 5–3 on penalties following a 1–1 equalizer in regulation time.

Then, in 2022, Boca won it again under the name of the Professional League Cup. This time it was Tigre, with a resounding 3-0 in the final.
