Of all the competitions held in the country from 1891 to the present, Boca River passed by one and leads the ranking.
Despite some trying to erase the first four decades with a stroke of the pen justified in who knows what interests, Argentine football has one of the richest and longest-lived histories on the entire planet. With activity since 1891 and constant competition since 1893, The First Division Championship is the longest continuous competition in the worldwhile the national cups have a history going back over a century since they were played the first edition of the Tie Cup Competition in 1900: When several tournaments were played a year on Creole soil, in other countries that are in power today, there was not even a federation that organized the activity.
All national cup champions in the history of Argentine football
Based on competition, the history of the clubs was falsified and different were the dominators over the decades. From Lomas Athletic to Alumni, then he appeared to race to become what is now the institutional motto, “The First Big One”, and later came the supremacy of the two giants, mouth and riverwhich persists to this day.
In the mid-1940s, Xeneize reached the Academy in total titles and after 20 years in which they alternated each adding a crown, in 1969 the Ribera club definitively surpassed that of Avellaneda and held as the most successful club for 22 years, until the millionaire achieved it in 1991 and surpassed it in 1993.
Núñez’s ensemble remained at the top in solitude for nearly three decades, until Boca matched it again in 2020 when he was crowned in the Diego Maradona Cup. And while River has since added a number of titles, the Xeneize tied it again with their title in the 2022 Professional League Tournament.
And after wasting two chances to again remain the most champion in solitude due to his defeats against Racing in the Champions Trophy and the International Super Cup, in the Argentine Super Cup against Patronato Boca managed to pass its biggest rival in number of national titles. He defeated Patrón 3-0 and won 52 titles.
