Real Madrid defender David Alaba has been harassed on social media for being named Best Player of the Year. It has been reported RMC Sports.

He voted for Lionel Messi, placing Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema second and PSG forward Kylian Mbappe third. After that, more than 25,000 comments came under his last post on social networks, most of which were aimed at removing the player from the Madrid club. Alaba had to take the blow and announced his choice.

“As for the Best award. The Austrian national team voted as a team, I’m not the only one. Every member of the team had the right to vote, so everything was decided.
Everyone, especially Karim himself, knows how much I admire him and his performances. I have often said that for me he is the best striker in the world and still is. Without a doubt,” Alaba wrote.

Remember, the main prize of the ceremony went to Lionel Messi, who was placed first by the coaches, national team captains, journalists and fans. The Argentine won the 2022 World Cup with the Argentina national team.
