The Norwegian Boxing Federation has decided to boycott the 2023 World Boxing Championship due to the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes.

It was noted that the boycott would be implemented not only by the boxers, but also by the referees and other officials.

The Women’s World Cup will be held in March 2023 in New Delhi, India, and the men’s tournament will be held in Uzbek Tashkent in May.

The USA, UK, Czech Republic, Ireland, Sweden and Canada have previously announced that they are boycotting the tournaments. This was due to the fact that boxers from Russia and Belarus were admitted to competitions under their own national flags.

Recall that on January 25, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that it is considering the possibility of allowing Russian athletes who do not support the conduct of a special operation on the territory of Ukraine to participate in international competitions in a neutral status.
