Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Alexander Emelianenko expressed his respect for Jeff Monson for renouncing his US citizenship, and also invited him to a boxing match.
Previously, athletes met already twice. In November 2012, Monson defeated Emelianenko Jr. by MMA rules, and in February 2022, Emelianenko Jr. defeated Monson bare-fingered.
