The Reds and other clubs such as the Celtic and the Borussia Dortmundhave made it famous among all football fans and is currently one of the most emotional songs heard on the field.

The song was originally composed by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein for the musical Carousel, which premiered in 1945. the song is used to comfort one of the characters after a suicide and it was also sung at the end of the musical’s performance, giving it more relevance.

Since then it has been interpreted and covered by all kinds of artists like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Barbra Streisand, Doris Day, Nina Simone, The Three Tenors, Louis Armstrong, Die Toten Hosen, The Adicts, Los Fastidios or Il Divo.
