Every professional football player’s career must come to an end, but most decide to do so due to age or close their cycle after achieving a major achievement. However, there is a small group of footballers who have done this due to constant injuries or setbacks that have forced them to hang their boots on the wall.
That’s why inside GOAL We look at the football players who decided to leave the field due to physical problems.
SALVADOR CABINS
RONALDO SCHEMIDT – AFP
Nicknamed the’MarshalHe was forced to leave professional football after an altercation in 2010 in a bar in Mexico City, the result of a fight with a person associated with drug trafficking. Salvador Cabanas I note 98 goals with the eagles of America and he earned idol status after a rough time with the Coapa team, but he always showed quality in all the matches he played in the cream blue shirt.
RAFAEL MARQUEZ LUGO

CESAR ANDRADE
One of the great prospects of Mexican football, Andrade made his professional debut with the Rojinegros del Atlas, where he showed great quality that saw him named rookie of the year. He was part of a large generation of red-black footballers such as Mario Méndez, Daniel Osorno and Miguel Zepeda, among others. In 1999, he would have a car accident that would change his life. César suffered numerous injuries after the traffic accident, but a partial amputation of his right leg forced him to say goodbye to football.
CARLOS SANCHEZ
An American with a red bone, Sánchez made his debut with the Águilas in 2002 and was later transferred to San Luis, where he had great seasons. In 2008, he would return to the club where he was born and witness one of the worst times for the Coapa team in its history. In a round of 16 game of the Copa Libertadores, Sánchez would suffer a blow to the head that was not treated with due care and would have consequences in the near future as he would suffer a stroke during training that would take him away from the courts forever.
