“Playing is better than not playing. We have no choice, we won’t be allowed to enter Europe for a long time, so we have to think about who we will play a friendly match with. If the national team does not disband, sooner or later we will return to Europe. And we will come back as a completely backward country of football. I do not want us to return, ”said Naumov.

Iranian media reported the possibility of the match being postponed, citing the team’s head coach, Mehdi Tahja. Presumably, the meeting will take place between March 20-28. The women’s teams of Russia and Iran will also play among themselves.
