The condition of Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov in figure skating began to deteriorate again after a slight improvement. This was reported by Telegram channel SHOT.
According to the source, Kostomarov’s lungs actually collapsed. In the left lung, only the lower lobe continues to work. The right lung cannot function on its own. Fluid appeared in the pleural cavity of Kostomarov, which occurs in violation of the outflow of lymph from the lung tissue. Also, the blood circulation in the hands of the skater is impaired. There’s an increased chance that his left hand will be amputated because he’s badly swollen. In addition, Kostomarov’s otitis media, which previously manifested itself in a mild form, aggravated.
Recall that Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with bilateral pneumonia. The athlete developed sepsis, which, against his background, led to amputation of the feet.
Information in the media also differed: some publications wrote about the amputation of the left foot of one foot, others wrote that the athlete lost both feet.
Denis Protsenko, former Chief Physician of MMCC Kommunarka spoke About the work of the media to report on the state of health of Roman Kostomarov.
