Rene Fasel, former president of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), became the main owner of a large Russian apple producer. It has been reported interfax.

The 73-year-old Swiss acquired a 54 percent stake in Alma Holding LLC last week. The remaining 46 percent belongs to Volga Group Agro, which is part of the Volga Group and owned by businessman Gennady Timchenko.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the former head of the IIHF is currently a Russian citizen. Included in USRIP in January 2022 as a sole proprietorship.

Fasel has been president of the International Ice Hockey Federation since 1994. He left his job in 2021.

Alma is engaged in the cultivation of first-class apples in the Krasnodar Territory. It has about 400 hectares of gardens.
