The press service of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has released the referee’s notes regarding the fight between Russia’s Islam Makhachev and Australia’s Alexander Volkanovski. The fight was the main event of the UFC 284 tournament held in Perth, Australia, and ended with a unanimous decision by Mahachev.

Judge Derek Cleary gave Islam the win with a score of 49:46. Ben Cartlidge and David Lethaby noted the same score in their notes – 48:47.

Makhachev defended the UFC Lightweight Championship for the first time. He has 24 wins and one loss to his credit. Volkanovski, who became the champion in the featherweight category, suffered his second defeat in his career, and his first defeat in the UFC, as he could not win two belts. He also achieved 25 wins at the professional level.
