On February 7, TASS reported that both legs were amputated for Kostomarov. The skater is conscious but is being treated in the intensive care unit under the close supervision of doctors.
It became known on January 10 that Roman Kostomarov was hospitalized. It was stated that he was taken to the intensive care unit due to pneumonia and was dependent on artificial lung ventilation, and his condition was reported to be extremely serious.
Later, the athlete was transferred to a hospital in Kommunarka. Doctors had to perform resuscitation and connect it to ECMO. Since January 24, the athlete has been disconnected from the device.
