Soviet and Russian figure skating coach Alexei Mishin shared his feelings about the news about the condition of Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov.

It became known on January 10 that Roman Kostomarov was hospitalized. It was stated that he was taken to the intensive care unit due to pneumonia and was dependent on artificial lung ventilation, and his condition was reported to be extremely serious. Finger amputations were initially reported.

Then the athlete was transferred to the hospital in Kommunarka. Doctors had to perform resuscitation and connect it to ECMO. On January 24, the athlete was disconnected from the apparatus, but continued to have problems with blood circulation.

Kostomarov, together with Tatyana Navka, is an Olympic champion in ice dancing. Their coach was Alexander Zhulin. Before that, Kostomarov performed with Anna Semenovich under the guidance of Natalia Linichuk, but did not achieve success at the international level.
