“A lot of people say that football players make a lot of money. But this is mostly a myth created by journalists. Ten people earn this much and we are far behind even the average European countries in terms of income.
For this reason, I applaud the men who play in the 2nd and 1st Leagues for 50 thousand or even 30 thousand rubles, even though they have families. But they continue to perform. And we need to talk about that too.
Yes, there is misbehavior on the players’ side. And so they anger society. But it says more about the culture and responsibility of coaches, club leaders. If not taught in the family, they must explain the rules of conduct to the athletes.
Football players must clearly understand that they have social responsibilities. But sometimes there are not very good examples, ”says Ovchinnikov RT.

In October 2018, Pavel Mamaev, the Kokorin brothers and their friend Alexander Protasovitsky became defendants in a criminal case involving two fights in the center of Moscow. At one of the institutions in Moscow, Kokorin was injured in the head, hitting Denis Pak, the head of the department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, with a chair.
They were sentenced to actual jail terms in May 2019. Mamaev and Protasovitsky received 1 year and 5 months in the general regime colony, the Kokorin brothers – 1.5 years each. They were released on parole in September 2019.
