The South American U-20 has been played since 1954 with three teams that have distinguished themselves from the rest and four that are still looking for their first title.

The SUdamericano Sub-20 2023 will experience its thirtieth edition when it takes place on Colombian soil from January 19. Throughout history, the tournament has served as a career builder or spotlight for football players who would eventually become stars or even legends.

In the 29 editions to date, three countries historically dominate with the most titleswhile four countries are still looking for the championship for the first time.

whatWHO IS THE TOP WINNER OF THE SOUTH AMERICAN SUB-20?


The country with the most titles is Brazil, winner 11 times, in addition to a second place in seven other editions. His first championship was in 1974, while his most recent was in 2011, which is why he has played four tournaments without lifting the trophy.

The Canarinha is followed by Uruguay with eight wins and third place goes to Argentina with five. Similarly, Paraguay and Ecuador have one title each. Chile, Venezuela, Peru and Bolivia have never climbed to the top of the podium.
