Maradona’s personal attorney, attorney Matias Morla, confirmed the results of the investigation during the hearing.

“A lot of mistakes were made because Diego died, they drugged the poor guy and drugged him until his heart exploded,” Morla said by TASS.

The lawyer noted that after Maradona’s surgery three weeks before his death, doctors suggested leaving him in the hospital under the supervision of medical personnel, but relatives of the former football player moved him to a rented house in the suburbs of Buenos Aires.

“It was crazy. The doctors said he had to be in the hospital,” he said.
