The Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana 2023 take their first step with draw for the first pre-stage and group stage respectively. This one Wednesday December 21, 2022 the destination of the first teams to participate in the two continental competitions will be announced
The draw for the preliminary stage of the Copa Libertadores will be attended by the clubs of: Nacional (Paraguay), El Nacional (Ecuador), Zamora (Venezuela), Sport Huancayo (Peru), Nacional Potosí (Bolivia) and Boston River (Uruguay).
There are three matches in the first stage, the 3 winners join 13 other teams who have already secured their place in the second stage, but only four can advance to the group stage.

Concerning the Copa Sudamericana there will be 44 teams that will be part of the draw, Argentina and Brazil being the countries with the most representative clubs with six for each. The rest have four teams from their leagues in the tournament.

The rights to the 2023 Copa Libertadores are owned by Pluto.tv and ESPN for South America, Central America, Caribbean islands and the countries of Guyana, French Guiana and Suriname.
