Maksut Shadayev, head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, said foreign companies producing processors according to Russian documentation refused to supply them to the Russian Federation. We are talking about the chips “Baikal” and “Elbrus”. As a result, there were fewer ready-made PCs and servers – the supply of processors was simply exhausted.

Shadayev specified that they released 8,000 servers and 15,000 PCs on domestic processors this year. However, the manufacturer refuses to ship them because the development companies have sanctions. And there are simply no suitable industries in Russia itself.

It should be noted that the Russian companies Baikal Electronics, JSC MCST and JSC SPC Elvis were under sanctions. Restrictions were imposed by the United States and the European Union.

And earlier, on a computer with an Elbrus-16C processor, they launched Downfall (2016) GTA 5 and Cyberpunk 2077
