More details were revealed on Wednesday, November 23, when the Danish national team released a medical report confirming a knee injury that saw the Sevilla player out of the World Cup.
For its part, the Nervión club announced that “Thomas Delaney suffered a grade 2 sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee in Denmark-Tunisia. The player had been working on his recovery for ten days in Seville an estimated downtime of eight weeks.”

With this diagnosis, Delaney will not play again until 2023 and will miss the last first round games, several rounds of the cup if Sevilla go through and even only make it to the round of 16 in the Europa League against PSV.
