A few days ago, a scandal began on the ArtStation platform – artists began to protest against neural networks and the images they created. The fact is that it is the generated images that have recently appeared more and more on the main page of the service.
The illustrators decided to express their indignation in a very original way. They started posting a picture with the abbreviation AI (Artificial Intelligence) crossed out, trying to get these pictures on the main page. As a result, the page now looks something like this:
However, Epic Games, owner of ArtStation, added fuel to the fire. The company said they would not remove works created by neural networks as they do not violate the site’s rules.
Note that generative neural networks that create content based on description have become very popular in recent months. However, the artists fear that they will be out of work and lose the rights to their illustrations.
