Serbian Sinisa Mihajlovic, former coach of Italian clubs, has died at the age of 53.
In 2019, the specialist announced that he had leukemia. Mihajlovic underwent three cycles of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. In March 2022, he announced that the disease had returned and that he needed a new treatment.
Mihailović spent most of his coaching career in Italy. His last club was Bologna, who fired the specialist in September 2022. He has also managed Torino, Milan, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Catania and Portugal Sporting. From 2012 to 2013 Mihajlović was the head coach of the Serbian national team.
Mihajlovic played for Red Star, Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter throughout his football career. He was called up to the Yugoslav national team.
