Vyacheslav Aminov, President of the Russian Pentathlon Sports Federation, commented on the words of the Olympic champion in modern pentathlon, Alexander Lesun. Due to the situation in Ukraine, he ended his career in the national team.
“His statements are his personal opinion. He cannot play for the Russian national team, as he has been out of the national team for a long time. What disagreements can happen when he has not been in the national team for a long time. I know you want to go to a country, sent your resume somewhere. But as far as I know, no one took it. It is clear that he is worried. I think he will calm down, ”says Aminov “Pair TV”.
Lesun was born in Borisov, Belarus and until 2008 represented this country at international competitions. After the games in Beijing, he started playing for Russia. The pentathlete explained that he was forbidden to compete in Belarus, this was due to health problems and promoted the student of the coach of the national team.
As a result, speaking for the Russian team at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Lesun won a gold medal in the pentathlon. He finished fourth at the London Games.
